Phil's dad, Jack Patterson, started painting in Louisville in the late 1940's. He built a successful business as a painting contractor. Phil started working with his dad in 1973, and learned about being a painting contractor from the bottom up. First he learned how to paint. Then he learned to oversee jobs and ensure they were done properly and safely. After that, he learned how to estimate projects. When it came time for Jack to retire, Phil bought the business from his dad.
Phillip Patterson Painting, Inc. was created in October of 1990. Phil wasn't content to just maintain the service and reliability the Pattersons were known for: he expanded on it. He took their reputation for painting Louisville's finest homes and extended that service to local businesses as well.
